Flow Infinite

by Dilip Mohapatra (February 2016)

The ink flows in microdrops
and encapsulates the flow of thoughts
on sheafs of virgin paper
in words that flow into lines and
lines that flow into stanzas which pulsate with a life of their own which sometimes become an avalanche or a tsunami or a tidal surge while sometimes become a cascading fall gently gliding to become a stream and then a river crossing the plains as well as tortuous terrains while leaping from anthology to anthology and from journal to journal to finally surrender into the welcoming arms of the oceans and seas to lose their faces and forms to lose their names and signatures and dissolve into the eternal cosmic flow.

A cosmic flow that encompasses
and engulfs the magma from the nether world that finds its way through the craters spewing lava the tears of many a Suns the sobs of a convulsive earth the joys of the unbridled spirits the peace and calm of the blessed souls the blood that flows from the torsos strewn around and left to rot in the open the cyclic flow of fertility that assures the flow of life the blood of sacrifice that had stained the shroud of Turin the flow of rage and hatred from the veiled eyes of the Jihadi Johns and the flow of love and compassion from Buddha's half open lotus eyes.

A cosmic flow the source of which
we may never know
neither we may ever know where will it vanish.
In its deathlessness we need not seek its end in its birthlessness we need not seek its origin.
We are born just to flow with it
in complete alignment
and complete unison to our salvation.
