Fears over Irish ISIS links

From the Irish Sun. The newspaper cannot/does not name either of the men concerned, not the Irish convert with gangland connections, nor the Jordanian recruiter for ISIS with whom he is feared to have links.

Seamus ‘Shavo’ Hogan’s former sidekick converts to Islam. ..The convert to Islam is pals with an IS activist deported last summer.

Last week we revealed how the “main recruiter” of IS in Ireland has been released from custody in his native Jordan and is actively communicating via social media. Among his contacts are a number of Irish radicals, including an associate of Hogan, who was Martin ‘The General’ Cahill’s sidekick.

A source said: “This guy has been booted out of Ireland but that hasn’t stopped him communicating with people here. He is still very involved in Irish matters. He is a bloody dangerous individual. The authorities are monitoring him in Jordan so he is not stepping out of line yet. But he is still influencing people here, like Hogan’s associate, who converted to Islam a few years ago.”

The man, claimed by the State to be the “foremost organiser and facilitator” of IS in Ireland, was deported in July after the High Court dismissed his appeal to stay. The Jordanian, who had lived in Dublin since 2000, claimed he would be tortured if he was sent back to his home country.

However, after a brief detention in Jordan he has been released.
