And there was me thinking that this was going to be something to do with exploding custard...

In other words, it wouldn't stand up in court.

Emily Litella & Custard's Last Stand

"What's all this about 'exploding custard'? We have the expression, "Not cutting the custard," and the Geneva Convention forbids cutting custard gas during peace talks, and I just love a man in uniform, except when he's custard out. And another thing: What about all those laws in France? They must be very much concerned with truffles, although much depends upon whose boar is being gored. -What?....Never mind....." -E.L.
Although I was raised within the Lutheran Church and later on, on the National Lampoon, it's probably just as well that I've been unable to find via Google's "Images" the latter's cartoon of Martin Luther nailing to a church door the "95 Feces." If memory disserves to lower the tone of this thread, the drawing was part a sort of "The Reformation and All That" piece which asserted, along the lines of the previously noted, politically correct "Jesus was a young Palestinian" (less correct, considering that "Palestine" aka "Philistia" was a calculated Roman insult, than, say, "Goliath was a young Palestinian"), that the "Lutheran church was founded by Lex Luthor."
* Yes, Artemis(see Don Quixote post); Dr. Oliver Windy Homes knew that he was drawing upon what was probably a mere tundra legend when he employed poetic license in penning "And fifty words for snow."
** Emily also registered her objections to the fraying of the moral riggings of society, as well as her problems with the lower registers of human speech, when she asked, "What's all this about 'There is no frigging like a book to take us lands away'?"

reactionry refers above to "Custard's Last Stand" -- an act of presumed courage. But hasn't custard always been cowardy?

With all this talk of custard, I'm surprised nobody has mentioned spotted dick. Or, in Rex's case, lesser spotted dick.

Just you wait, 'enry 'iggs Bosun*, just you wait; the bulls will make money and the bears will make money, but the Pygmalions will get slaughtered when EESA sells our birthright for a mess of arbitrage.
*Like Bosons, Bosuns and their mates cannot share a bunk with alluring castaway Fermions according to the Pauly Shore** exclusion principle. A hat tip is due to Mary's Poste Restante post, and a hat is solemnly removed for a former favourite of the Frühstück which hasn't been spotted picking up its mail since 2006:
