Nicely argued, Mary.
Speaking as a mother of four children, two boys, two girls, I have to say that sometimes the two girls hang out and do 'girl stuff' and the boys do 'boy stuff', but that it is equally frequent for commonalties of age and interest to cross gender lines. That is: sometimes the two older children (girl and boy, age 17 and age 20) find things to talk about that the two younger (girl and boy, age 13 and age 10) do not.
But then the eldest boy and the youngest girl share a formidable artistic talent, and a passion for Japanese anime, and spend a good deal of time peering over each other's shoulders, admiring each other's latest art projects, and discussing the fine points of this or that animated movie. They don't just watch a video: they discuss the voicing and the techniques, they assiduously watch the 'how it was done' special feature, and play 'spot the actor'.
And of the four children, it is the two girls - in particular, the younger girl - who seem to be best at organising and leading. They are clearheaded and energetic and good at persuading others to do things. (The two boys might rather be described as 'cats that walk by themselves', happy enough to fit in with what others are doing if they think it looks interesting). My husband and I are quite puzzled by our amazingly confident and competent daughters - we find it a little surprising that we should have managed to conceive them - because neither of us has ever been very good at organising ourselves, let alone others.

And what would happen if mohammed was a woman ?
The way he treated them it would serve him right. In fact Mohammed's punishment in the hereafter was surely to spend all eternity as one of his own wives.

He might have to marry a 9 year old boy and spend from now to eternity making Airfix models.
