The Bee and the Lamb
by Takuan Seiyo (November 2011)
The bee in its host
On a freezing day in late November 1913, an indigent with a sorrow-etched face and no topcoat was ejected in a wilderness area from a train headed from Estonia to Warsaw. He had no ticket, for he could not afford one. An eighth child of a dirt-poor Estonian peasant, the outcast was on his way to claim the throne of Poland to which he was convinced he was the rightful heir. more>>>

Waiting on the dock for the next installment. Non vedo l'ora.

One the one hand, I am very impressed with the people of Estonia. On the other, I am confused as to why after so long a stuggle to gain their independence they would hand their fate over to the EU and allow their wealth to be stolen by the ECB and the Euro. The same thing happened here in the United States, but only after a very long struggle against the Banksters. Nevertheless, Americans are once again surfs of the Ruling Class. So sad to see Estonia going down the same road after such an heroic effort to remain one nation, one people, one identity (and a beautiful one at that), only to hand away their freedom once gained. I would love to visit there some day, but I understand the language would be impossible for me to learn. Do many speak English there? Actually, I speak Texan, which is somewhat like English but different enough to make communication with Englishmen difficult.

@Warrior Class III
In the case of all once-commie countries admitted to the EU, the flow of money is the reverse of what you think: they get a lot more than they give. And quite a number of them have not joined the euro, though Estonia did.
Estonian is a very difficult language to learn, and it's a difficult society for a foreigner to integrate in.

For whatever it is worth, what strikes me as striking, about the linked Estonian songs, is (are?) their apparent Sincerity. In the US and UK, words such as that would generally be uttered as Sarcasm or its British cousin, Irony. The aforesaid brings me through Jam and Jerusalem, and Kate Rusby, to The Kinks, who seem to mix a little Irony in with Sincerity, but I always have difficulty figuring how much is Irony and how much is Sincerity.
The Kinks - Village Green
(a different song than "The Village Green Preservation Society", from the same 1968 album)

It is a great shame that the inspiring and peaceful way Estonia and her sister Baltic states resisted and finally escaped the cruel Soviet yoke has not been publicized and studied as the amazing achievement it is and as a better example to follow than all the bloody revolutions going on around the globe where both sides commit atrocities. Marxist domination of western academia and media is so complete that this shining moral victory against the greatest scourge so far on earth - communism - is kept carefully hidden from the larger public. Thanks be to Mr. Seiyo for highlighting Estonia as a mighty mouse counterweight to prevailing leftist thought. It is clear that a deep love and commitment to one's country and one's people is a necessity to survive even the most sustained foreign onslaughts, a "never say die" stubborn will to survival. Conversely, denigrating one's own people to benefit the foreign leads inevitably to extinction. Whites should ask themselves why only they are required to perform this cultural suicide, why only they must accept people from failed yet hostile cultures in order to earn a non-racist badge that non-white countries reject? In fact, non-whites flaunt their racism and exclusivity. Where is the yellow guilt, the brown guilt, the red (Native) guilt and black guilt for historical atrocities these races have committed? The key is that none of these races have developed a mentally disorded fifth column (so-called progressives) blaming their own kind for every ill.
Re: the questions posed in some of the other comments, many Estonians speak English and it has become a successful tourist destination, with Tallinn the capital containing the best example of an intact walled city from the Hanseatic League. The seeming coolness of the Estonian personality is part of their inbred survival mechanism as strangers have never treated Estonia kindly. However, if you manage to get past the protective veneer, you will find very pleasant companions indeed.

I am deeply inspired by what you have written. As a historian I know that this is true and feel helpless to change the situation. I look forward to reading more of your work.

"...For most Conservatives, the answer lies in whatever religious rite they learned when nine years old, with a safe harbor for nonthought in worship of Jesus-the-God not leavened with serious study and contemplation of Jesus-the-man and His times. It entails a formalistic adherence to a syncretic 4th century dogma grounded in unexamined autosuggestion, often entailing surrender masquerading as love and embittered at its dwindling popularity. It does not seem to work well in the 21st century anymore..."
As someone who has actually read the Bible, Church History, and systematic theology, I can only say that the above snippet is P.G.--pure garbage. Seiyo wants to save the Western world, but his idea quoted above is 150% distilled from the selfsame suicidal idiots who have allied Christian denominations with Obamania, Euro-socialism, and "solidarity" with the "struggling Islamic masses".
And, as for my country having a chance to be a truly rational one after our civil war, one reason it's my country is because it needed European immigrants like my own ancestors to make up for what it lost on the battlefield. And, I regret to say, we brought socialism and German "higher criticism" (which Solomon Schechter rightly observed to be the "higher anti-Semitism") in its luggage.

That was a wonderful, impressive history lesson with quotable quotes everywhere. Your bit about diversity being like tabasco sauce was meaningful to me. Having links to references was helpful like the 36 Strategems. I read those and my mind began identifying which of those the Prince of the Air is using in our nation. I say Prince of the Air because BHO and my other enemies are not bright enough to be strategists therefore they are used by a fallen angel from a God they do not believe in.
Your take on “In God We Trust” was also useful. By the way I live in a town with a noticeable Amish population. These people do trust in God because they do not buy health insurance preferring life before health insurance.
You seem to float above the cultures of the world because it is difficult to identify your identity. A more Christian scholarly writer would have found nutrition to formulate explanations by quoting scripture, which you did not. Although you acknowledge the West needs Christianity badly.
All of the Old Testament has God warning the Jews not to mingle with foreign peoples and destroy their gods and high places if He gives them their land.
Historically the Jews were not good at obeying that. Now they have a pinky hold on the eastern Med. sea.
I'll read on to your other parts. Thanks.
