Swedish Conditions, Or, Something is Rotten in the State of Sweden Bookmark and Share

(with apologies to William Shakespeare who got it wrong in Hamlet; Act I Scene 4)

by Lars Hedegaard, translated by Norman Berdichevsky (March 2012)

A preface by the translator, Dr. Norman Berdichevsky, author of An Introduction to Danish Culture.

Americans generally have an idyllic picture of the Scandinavian countries especially with regard to democratic institutions, human rights and civil liberties. Nevertheless, the debilitating effects of massive Muslim immigration and political correctness in Sweden have become increasingly apparent and raised considerable unease in nearby Denmark. An important consideration to bear in mind is that while Denmark is a member of NATO, Sweden has a long tradition of neutrality (that included close economic cooperation with Nazi Germany during the first few years of World War II). Sweden has distanced itself not only from the sentiments of Scandinavian cooperation, Western civilization, Judeo-Christian tradition respect for women and the fundamental rights of free speech and expression but is openly pandering to Islamist isolationist resistance to integration within Swedish society. more>>>

It's way too late for Sweden to get out of this mess now, and it just keeps getting worse. But the problem, for Denmark and other nordic countries, is that it affects them too. The crime-rate and radicalisation among muslims in the danish capital Copenhagen, is rising due to the neighbouring Swedish Malmö. But what's most worrying about the whole thing is, that they don't even want to talk about it. It's like they have given up on the whole thing. More Swedes move out of Sweden than during the American immigration-period in the 19th century. That's simply alarming...

It is no better in America where the left wing democraticparty ran an Islamist for president and he won.  Now the same left wing democrats are preparing to fix the next election in order to assure his reelection. The hatred that leftists both in Europe and Usa have for the western civilzation which gave them the opportunities they have is mind bending.  We are rapidly apporacing a read  dark age of Islamic domination and the rich Americans are pushing for it.

I strongly request you to understand that denmark is not taking kindly to swedish society.Denmark are not impartial as they have had an antagonistic way of handling sweden it is much like the Irish way towards the english.

Sweden is however not handling imigration very well and islamic organisations take advantage of the situation that swedish police is almoast nonexisting.

Sweden is a democratic open society but with compromizing signs of conspiracy against Assange by the millitary.

Like your conspiracy on Lady DI..in France..

Keep up the free press but avoid helping the bad guys

Censorship of ideas is most effective when a general fear of saying something wrong ends in widespread self censorship.

I couldn't agree more with this article. I'm an American who has been living in Sweden for 15 years and who knows a bit about this country. Unfortunately, Swedes are the most politically correct people on the continent, so much so that issues such as immigration, the threat of islam and crime are topics that people avoid talking about, even at informal gatherings. Swedes want to believe that they live in a Kantian ideal world where ALL people are law-abiding, tolerant and essentially nice. They know this isn't true, but people in general and the the media in particular try very hard to keep this image of the country, very much so as they did in the Soviet Union and the Germany Democratic Republic.
