A Vindication of Natural Society Bookmark and Share

by David Hamilton (March 2012)

We are not merely natural but we are natural in the sense that our lives are held together by emotional relationships rather than ideologies and the numinous things in life like art and religion and a need for countryside as well as beautiful landscapes. We are natural in the sense that we form emotional relationships, families and communities and need our countryside as solace or relief. A varied and open countryside is beneficial to the physical and mental health of the population. We have a duty to pass on the environment we have inherited to our children, as they, in turn, will have a duty to pass it on to their children. more>>>

I certainly wrote in time.  The non-Conservative leadership have announced plans to revolutionise our planning laws and build a new city in the English Midlands.

This will not only destroy our countryside countryside by relaxing planning laws, but also to build a new city in the Midlands. The first is for their supporters to make more money because its cheaper to build on the GreenBelts than buy more expensive BrownField sites; The second to accomodate the masses of immigrants thay are letting in.  It is a typically short-sighted view from these minor figures because our countryside is a major tourist attraction.  Further, I question the legitimacy as it is a coalition of parties with few votes when another general election should have been called.
