All Mankind is Hostage to Islam, All Mankind is Gilad Shalit

I myself would not have done the prisoner exchange.

In this respect I think Daniel Pipes is correct.

Either way I would put out an announcement explaining that sadly hostage taking and ransom is an integral part of Islam and is standard practice and has been since the prophet of Islam, Mohammed, himself took hostages and engaged in ransom.

I would give chapter and verse and boy oh boy are there a lot of chapters and a lot of verses.

I would explain further that all mankind, (including all the Muslims), is hostage to the ideology of islam because under Sharia Law, the law of Allah:

If a Muslim wishes to leave Islam the sentence is death:

[In Sahih Bukhari, the most canonical of hadith collections, Muhammad said,

If a "non-Muslim" kuffar does not submit by converting (or submitting as a dhimmi with no legal rights if he/she is a Jew or Christian), the sentence is death:
submit or die (Muslim, Book 019, Number 4294) ]

This of course means that everybody on earth is in fact Gilad Shalit including the slaves to Allah that have been holding him hostage and the prisoners that have been exchanged.

To coin a phrase that actor Michael Caine said that the late comedian Peter Sellers said (in a cockney accent):
"No' a lotta people know that."
Of course it is wonderful that the Jewish soldier has been freed.

 My letter in jpost.com :

Sir, – According to its accusers, Israel is a ruthless victimizer of innocents who respond violently out of desperation. Actually, though, terrorists take advantage of the fact that Israel is restrained by moral scruples.

Would they keep launching rockets from the Gaza Strip if Israel responded by devastating entire neighborhoods, as it easily could? Would youngsters be throwing rocks if they knew the response would be like that seen in Syria? Would hostages be taken if Israel went after the bad guys in Gaza with abandon? Of course not, and they know it.

Israel’s foes may lack scruples, but they are not fools. Sometimes, though, I wonder about Israel.
