Poetic 'Terlude - Something that 'Spired Me

I just membered this, went off and looked it up then came back and posted it here for you joyment:

I know a little man both ept and ert.
An intro-? extro-? No, he's just a vert.
Sheveled and couth and kempt, pecunious, ane,
His image trudes upon the ceptive brain.

When life turns sipid and the mind is traught,
The spirit soars as I would sist it ought.
Chalantly then, like any gainly goof,
My digent self is sertive, choate, loof.

Gloss, by David McCord

David McCord? In Sight Of Sever? This is getting close to home. Who will appear here next? Walter Muir Whitehill?

My odd posts are no Essays from Harvard but one, truly, never does know who might appear at NER next so, as dear David McCord, may he rest in peace, would have known only too, too well:

Quapropter sciendum, quod sancti'Jacobi peregrini, sive
pauperes sive divites, jure sunt recipiendi, et diligenter pro-curandi.

The Latin quote, of course and for those of you who don't know, is from Whitehill's great work of transcription of the Codex Calixtinus and translates roughly as follows:

Which is why it should be known, that peregrinos [pilgrims] of Santiago, poor or wealthy, in justice should be taken in, and diligently attended to. (Book 1, 'The Pilgrims Guide', Chapter XI.)
