Behind closed doors, the USA and other majority-Christian western countries, if they had even a glimmering of sense, should be swallowing their pride and holding emergency talks with Russia to figure out how to rescue the Syrian Christians whether Catholic or Orthodox - those Christians native to Syria, whether Greek, Armenian or Syriac, and those who have fled into Syria from jihad-wracked sharia-crazed Mesopotamia - if it looks like the Sunnis are going to topple the Alawites, for if they do, they will likely embark on a genocide of the Christians.
I think it would not be beyond the means of the US, and Russia, combined, to find ways of assisting those Christians, and ways of getting them out, by boat or by plane, tens and scores and hundreds of thousands of people, rather than standing back to watch them be butchered wholesale by allahu-akbaring mobs. Just get them out and then fit them in, across the lands of the non-Muslims (while grimly identifying, and extracting, and sending back to dar al Islam any Muslims who might insinuate themselves among the refugees, under false pretences).
But nobody has the brains or the imagination to think of that...
Why, oh, why, just for a change, can't we of 'the West' try focusing on sticking up for and rescuing our fellow non-Muslims from Muslim persecution and mass-murder, instead of wasting all our energy trying to save Muslims from each other or, worse, - as in the case of the lavish western subsidies to the Jew-hating Palestinian Arab Muslims - actually helping Muslims wage jihad against beleaguered non-Muslims?
