1.   The Problem

Let's consider these two pictures in the most forthright terms possible. The one with the mustache is the Droeshout Portrait in the First Folio of 1623. The other is Queen Elizabeth I (1585-90). Assume that the one of "William Shakespeare" resembles William Shakespeare the poet, and that of "Queen Elizabeth" resembles Queen Elizabeth I. When we look more closely, we begin to spot strange similarities. Some features, e.g., the noses, are indistinguishable, and the relationships of many parts are astonishingly homologous.  more>>>
