At 48 the guy will no doubt die in prison. In any case people sentenced to prison in Pakistan probably don't live more than just 3 or 4 years on average, no matter their age.

The Obama administration hasn't done or said anything about this. In the future, any reasonable Muslim ( and there certainly are some) will be most reluctant to help America or Nato in a conflict with islam because they will think back to this case and come to the conculsion that theri co-operation will end in nothing more than death or a lengthy prison sentence.

It's hard enough already to find reliable partners in the muslim world, but with this case finding such partners will become virtually impossible.

One more thing; Pakistan isn't just duplicitous and deceitful; it is  a disgusting, a repulsive  and a useless shit-hole.

So no doubt Obama will throw them a few billion more.

The way to heap further humiliation on these deceitful shysters is to spring Afridi from jail in a whirlwind military strike similar to the one at Abbotabad. Then set the guy up with a nice place in Palm Springs and a million dollars.
