7th July – 15 years on

15 years and the terror attacks continue via lone wolf attacks. The intelligence services are getting good at intercepting the organised plots involving numerous people and large quantities of explosives. But the sea in which these packs of  lone wolves swim is as deep and wide as ever, and the authorities lack the political will to do anything robust about it.

However a lot of conciousness has been raised in the last 15 years; few now believe  that Islam is a religion of peace, albeit that many Muslims, by ignoring the Koran manage to lead decent lives, for so long as the tenets of the Koran are not forcibly brought home to them.

I didn’t join my friends of March for England when they placed flowers in Tavistock Square on Saturday. They were a smaller group than previous years for obvious reasons but the anniversary was marked nonetheless. Today I believe others will be placing flowers at the 52 stele in Hyde Park. I took this on a previous visit. It hasn’t been forgotten.
