by Henry James (June 2015)
In my home town on the east coast of Scotland there was no shortage of graffiti in the run-up to last year’s referendum on independence. The message was short and demanding: ‘End London Rule!’ Nine months later and these slogans have not yet faded. You can find them stencilled on walls, bins, on pavements, and even written through the dust on the back of white vans. more>>>

It may be off the real topic of this interesting article, but I couldn’t help noticing this ‘End London Rule!’ , which the author reports. Scottish nationalism is about, and perhaps always was mainly about, independence from England – the Scotland will continue to be, as it is now, a minor province in the EU, just as England, Wales, and Ireland are/will be. Perhaps, when the Scottish people realise this, the SNP will go the way of Scottish Labour, and Scottish Conservative. Does Mr James have a view on this?
