Alevis Protest The Treatment Of Their Cemevis

The Alevis in Turkey have always had trouble with the Sunnnis. They attend cemevis, not mosques, and under the very-Muslim Erdogan, the cemevis have been subjected to various difficulties.According to the law, “houses of worship” are  exempt from various utility bills. But. Sunni Turks, and especially now under the Erdogan despotism, do not regard Alevi cemevis as “houses of worship.”

Now there’s more trouble for the Alevis whose practices and beliefs overlap  with, but are not identical to, the Alawis in Syria, another object of Sunni Muslim hatred and Erdogan’s deep and permanent hostility.
