And the winner is “Our Man”

By William Corden

No need for grace in victory
a scourge it has been vanquished
He changed the path of history
by preaching what he practiced

He steps up to the podium
in strengthened vindication
withstood the flood of odium
to win his coronation.

This time he knows just what do
‘Cos he’s been here before
He knows the ones he’s gonna  keep
and who’ll be shown the door.

First things first and last things last
will set the new agenda
he’s got to get the deadwood out
remove impedimenta.

Line ’em up, give ’em notice
the old wounds need a burning poultice
and he’s the  man to take them on
starting right from first day one.

Once he’s got the main job done
and got his guys in place,
he can get the whole thing moving
and clean up this disgrace.

Fire the drones who’ve made the mess
those  enemies from within,
end the farce of genderness
let’s begin again.

It won’t be easy, it won’t be kind,
the players sleazy, the loyalties blind.
But here we have chance at last
the chance to put things right.
Put your hopes behind him
and fight fight fight.
