And Yet…
By Christopher Hitchens
Simon & Schuster (November 24, 2015)
352 pp.
Christopher Hitchens’ chatty prose style and wide-ranging erudition returns in a new collection of writings entitled And Yet... Consisting of essays and reviews from the likes of Vanity Fair, Slate and The Atlantic between 2005 and 2010, the pieces are wide-ranging, giving us the full span of Hitchens’ interests, from politics and history to travel and literature. And yet – I am forced to conclude that this collection has a watered-down feel to it, lacking something of the fieriness that was Hitchens’ trademark.
