Bethnal Green Academy, (where four dozy chits from the same year have decamped as jihad brides to Syria, the latest group of three are currently in the news) previously Bethnal Green Technology College, and before that Bethnal Green High School was formed in around 1997 when the all boys Danesford School accepted girl pupils.
Danesford School was formed some time after the war when Daniel Street School and Mansford Street School were amalgamated.
Former pupils of Daniel Street School include the Kray twins and most important of all, my dad.
At the age these girls are my father was fighting the Blitz on the East End. Sympathy? Nah! You have mistaken me for someone who gives a damn.

I wonder if the three have reached Syria yet,or are they still making their way across Turkey? Going by bus is the cheapest way, but money might not be a problem for them. If they’ve ventured to go by bus they would have had to navigate the maze of Istanbul’s huge bus terminals where touts await anyone who looks “different’ or appears a little bit lost. It’s no easy task especially for a non-Turkish speaker. Did they choose their destination city? How much help did they get in doing this? Do they realize that they would have to change buses (could be in the middle of the night) at some central city, far less cosmopolitan than London, or even Istanbul. Do they know about the poor safety record of Turkey’s inter-city buses that hurtle through the night along icy highways in mountainous regions – sometimes without benefit of snow tires? I doubt they thought of any of that. Of course they could have been picked up at Ataturk Airport by an accomplice with a car. I doubt they would have chosen to fly across Turkey to Diyarbakir, for example, for on domestic flights the “yabanci” sticks out like a sore thumb. Why am I worried about all this? I’m not really – just revisiting the journey I’ve done myself several times, and would hesitate to undertake again. These brainwashed girls answering the call of jihad really have no clue.
