Would you rather hear on the subject of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its nuclear project Barack Obama, or Benjamin Netanyahu. The latter has been warning the West about this project, in every way he could, for the past 15 years. He does not take the world as his entire project.. He has to think about his own tiny and permanently beleaguered state. And so he’s given a lot of attention, a lot of thought, to that nuclear project. The Israelis had close dealings with Iran under the Shah; they understood the Persian mentality, they know what Taqiyya is, they have recently decided to no longer pretend that they don’t know what Islam is all about.
Many jumped in early, playing follow-the-leader, exclaiming what a mistake it was for Netanyahu to come, what a disaster. It’s only that if you allow yourself to think that. If you think quite otherwise, and express that thought convincingly, suddenly what seemed to some a “disaster” will be seen quite otherwise. And take the names of those who stay away. Barack Obama and his State Department have not earned the right to lecture anyone about Iran. They have been kept from making a disastrous agreement — so far — only by pressure, and some of that pressure has come from the persuasive presentations offered by Benjamin Netanyahu.
