And if Scotland leaves there will be an end to British sovereignty.
Perhaps the nearest comparison is when England (and Wales) split from Rome, and Tudor England and Wales loved itself and embarked on self – discovery under people like John Leland, Humphrey Lluyd, Michael Drayton, and, yes, John Bale.
Hmm. I wonder whether Lord Black will update this column with his thoughts about Theresa May and David Davis (who both sound pretty good to me).
