Counter-terror police arrest man in east London

From the Telegraph

A man has been arrested by counter-terror police on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism. The 32-year-old was held in Stratford, east London, by officers from the Metropolitan Police on Monday night.

Scotland Yard said he was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon at about 10pm.

He was taken to an east London police station, while officers carried out a search of a residential address as part of the investigation. At about 3pm on Tuesday, officers from the Met’s counter-terror command arrested the man again on suspicion of being concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism under the Terrorism Act 2000.

The man remains in custody.
