Thursday at the CNN Republican presidential debate, Donald Trump said when he told CNN’s Anderson Cooper “Islam hates us,” he meant “a lot of them” and he will “stick with exactly” with his comments.
Partial transcript as follows:
TAPPER: Mr. Trump, let me start with you. Last night you told CNN, quote, ‘Islam hates us.’ Did you mean all 1.6 billion Muslims?
TRUMP: I mean a lot of them. I mean a lot of them.
TAPPER: Do you want to clarify the comment at all?
TRUMP: I’ve been watching the debate today. They’re talking about radical Islamic terrorism or radical Islam. I will tell you there’s something going on that maybe you don’t know about, maybe a lot of other people don’t know about, but there’s tremendous hatred. And I will stick with exactly what I said to Anderson Cooper.

I assume there have to be people across Europe saying to themselves, “Why can’t WE occasionally have a politician like that with real potential for assuming power? One who won’t back down in the face of outrageous attacks from all sides and slander of every kind?”
