For "Hiatus"– Please — A Quietus Make

In the last few years, everyone has had the same bright idea: to wit, to use, overuse, misuse, abuse, the word “hiatus.” It’s the all-purpose word for a lapse, gilded or otherwise, of time, for a gap, for a delay, for time off or time out, for a respite, for a removal, for a rest. Today’s headline in Pakistani papers, for example:  “After 7-year hiatus, nation witnesses Pakistan Day parade.”

Here. Take this odd bodkin. Take “hiatus.” Now, please, with that bare bodkin, its quietus make.

Thank you.
