Good wishes for 2024

to you all for the coming year.

This is an old photograph of Canary Wharf btw, from Jan 2023. I was at home last night with my family, including the cat and a decent film on TV. Probably one of the best ways to see in the New Year. Although I still do as my father did and open the back door to let the Old Year out, and stand in the garden to listen to the boats on the Thames sounding their hooters (that’s not a rude term in England) in celebration. These days there are fewer boats on The River, and any sound they make is drowned out by the modern custom of fireworks. So I watch them instead and go ooh… and aaah… while keeping the cat in the comfort of an inner room.
