I’m 28. And I’m Scheduled to Die in May.

So, her psychiatrist got sick of her whining and decided to kill her? What is going on?

Ter Beek, who lives in a little Dutch town near the German border, once had ambitions to become a psychiatrist, but she was never able to muster the will to finish school or start a career. She said she was hobbled by her depression and autism and borderline personality disorder. Now she was tired of living—despite, she said, being in love with her boyfriend, a 40-year-old IT programmer, and living in a nice house with their two cats.

She recalled her psychiatrist telling her that they had tried everything, that “there’s nothing more we can do for you. It’s never gonna get any better.”

At that point, she said, she decided to die. “I was always very clear that if it doesn’t get better, I can’t do this anymore.”

(…)

“I’m seeing euthanasia as some sort of acceptable option brought to the table by physicians, by psychiatrists, when previously it was the ultimate last resort,” Stef Groenewoud, a healthcare ethicist at Theological University Kampen, in the Netherlands, told me. “I see the phenomenon especially in people with psychiatric diseases, and especially young people with psychiatric disorders, where the healthcare professional seems to give up on them more easily than before.”

Theo Boer, a healthcare ethics professor at Protestant Theological University in Groningen, served for a decade on a euthanasia review board in the Netherlands. “I entered the review committee in 2005, and I was there until 2014,” Boer told me. “In those years, I saw the Dutch euthanasia practice evolve from death being a last resort to death being a default option.” He ultimately resigned.

  1. Suppose this lady was to enliven barely recovering children in a Children’s Hospital, after she’d completed her hospital clown training. What would she be depressed about? Surely not in being able to live a worthwhile life!
Or, how about volunteering to serve as a human receiver of a new drug, possibly toxic, possibly therapeutic, hopefully useful in saving lives at the tone determined safe dosage? Why would she deny this Worth the rest of her life.?
Did she refuse to be hypnotized into a lifetime search for acceptable purposes to live happily, remaining in trance until she’d found practicable purposes? Considerations for purpose could be posed to her while in trance — from the worlds of recovered nihilists and ‘recovered’ 10 Step thrivers — if not from worldwide missionaries.

  2. Praying for Zoraya 🙏🏼 I understand about depression and anxiety as I have suffered with it most of my life and also have a daughter who suffers with it. But suicide is not the right decision! Even if we suffer all of our lives here on Earth and never get well, that is only 80 to 90 years at the most for most of us. Eternity is forever! Once you make this decision, there is no second chance. Please turn to Jesus! Life may not get suddenly better, but He will be there to walk through it with you. I know from experience.

Whoever has the Son (Jesus Christ) has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1 John 5:12).

And just as it is appointed and destined for all men to die once and after this [comes certain] judgment, -Hebrews 9:27

that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures… -1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Hell is a terrifying reality. The very thought of it should frighten everyone. I often think how terrible it would be to spend eternity in Hell. I sometimes fear that I might have to—but that’s when I remind myself of these sweet gospel truths. “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1). In Christ, I am not condemned and never will be. My sins have been forgiven through His shed blood (Ephesians 1:7) and God will not hold me responsible for my transgressions because “Christ…suffered once for sins, righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God” (1 Peter 3:18). I don’t have to fear death or Hell because Christ “was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification” (Romans 4:25).

You can only avoid the wrath of God in Hell if you trust in the One who absorbed the wrath of God on the cross. “Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God” (Romans 5:9). God did not spare His Son on the cross. He will spare the One who finds His refuge in Jesus. Hell is reserved for the enemies of God. In Christ, we are beloved children and friends of God.

Christians, let us warn and let us plead with men and women to run to the Savior and avoid this horrendous place. Hell is awful. It’s terrifying and we need to tell people the full truth as it pertains to Hell. Let us say with Charles Spurgeon, “If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.” -Knowing Jesus Ministries

    1. I agree with you Denise and pray for the Lord Jesus to undertake on Zoraya’s behalf and stop the devil’s plan for her life. I plead the Blood of the Lamb over her and pray for God to reveal His Son in her heart and bring her out of darkness and into His own Glorious Light, in the Authority of the Name of Jesus.

  3. Zoraya ter Beek, I will be waiting for you, and I am sending you back, next time your body will be frail, you will have chronic sickness, you will be an orphan and face riddled with sores, you will be an outcast, and I am doing to ask this to happen to you hopefully nine times, and I am going to ask to consume and take the souls of all staff who has allowed this, and who does it, this is not your right to do this, and you will be sent back.

Every problem you have will be multiplied 3 times, you are living out your karma based on your prior life choices, and also, get rid of that Onyx you are wearing. See you in hell. You were given a perfectly good body, and you choose to do this, sorry, this is a perversion and needs to be stopped.

Instead of live what you caused in a former life, you are dragging everyone down. Anyone considering this, you will be meeting me, it is not over for you, you are going no where.

    The Current Christ.

  4. Dear Sky Defiler:
Your speaking in the name of the Forever Christ is an abomination of naive ignorance!
You’ve violated the cosmic code of behavior toward the needful.
Your egomanic behavior is your punishment.
Honest remorse will put you back on course.
