ISIS: Rooted Deeply In Islam

I clicked on the link and read the article. At the “Guardian”. Interesting. Because there were a lot of comments. And although there were plenty of Defenders of Islam trying their very best, the number of people who were just. not. buying the nonsense anymore, and had drawn the obvious conclusion – Islamic State is, well, ISLAMIC, was even larger. And not a few of the latter were quite familiar with Quran, Sira and Hadith, and able to cite chapter and verse. The History Boys – and Girls – are multiplying fast: the internet is a great force-multiplier for the ‘each one teach one’ system. The following exchange, in the comments, was priceless. Said a deflector – “I don’t know who joins ISIS”. To which another Commenter at once shot back, succinctly: “Muslims”. And another promptly chipped in with, “I know who never does [join ISIS] – Those who profess NO FAITH in the commands of Islam”. The apologist (or for all we know, Muslim in mask) tried again – “The Muslims I know have been peaceful and respectable”, and was at once replied to by someone else (from NZ, to judge by the moniker) – “Only until they have the numbers!” (I.e. the Muslims will be “peaceful and respectable” only until they feel strong enough not to have to lie low and play nice). And this no-nonsense stuff, just to repeat, was in the Comments to an article published in the **Guardian**, which is possibly the most grovellingly Islamophile western rag one could name (though the NYT and Ha-aretz are putting up some stiff competition in that particular ‘race to the grovel’). Now, if that’s what’s starting to filter into the **Guardian** comments floor….and is not being moderated out of existence…then it suggests that *something* is starting to shift. Methinks there are rumblings and quiverings and emissions of smoke and steam, at ground level, all over the lands of the non-Muslims, that seem to me to presage volcanic upheavals, perhaps even of Krakatoan proportions.
