Ivan Rioufol: In Doubs, UMP, PS, Tutti Quanti Arrived To Defeat Sophie Montel

And they did, but only just. The Socialist candidate, supported by the UMP, and a cast of celebrity politicians who came flockiing in to declare that Montel, the candidate of the Front National, was therefore simply and forever beyond the pale, unworthy of consideration, did win — but with 51.63% of the vote. And now  the UMP and the PS have begun to realize that the central issue in France is “Islam and immigration.” They can’t get around it, they can’t get out of it, they can’t claim that by throwing even more money at the crime-ridden cites of those who are raised up suffused with the hostile, hate-filled atmospherics of Islam, directed at the Infidel nation-state and all its works and days, they have a solution. They’ve got to halt the Muslim influx, and reverse it, using all of the many instruments that a clever state, and people, can devise to protect themselves.
