This article expands the redaction of Shakespeare’s play initiated in “Unreading Lear,” Chapter Four of Unreading Shakespeare, New English Review Press, 2015.

It’s always interesting to observe which dramatic elements catch our attention and which slip furtively by with downcast eyes as though they had something to hide. To be sure, we can’t focus on everything, but each omission risks overlooking something fruitful.  more>>>
