Knife-wielding man arrested outside kosher supermarket in Golders Green after ‘making antisemitic threats’

Part and parcel of living in a big city according to Mayor Khant.  It never used to be so. From the London Evening Standard and Jewish News

A knife-wielding man was filmed shouting “antisemitic abuse” (on a theme of Palestine) outside kosher supermarket in Golders Green (well known for a large Jewish community)  on Monday afternoon before being wrestled to the floor.

Footage showed a man carrying a large knife appearing to threaten staff before being wrestled to the ground by members of the public and officers.

Officers are not treating the incident as terror-related, with a Scotland Yard spokesperson saying a 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection. No, just terrifying.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said that a 34-year-old man had been arrested and taken into custody “on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, criminal damage and racially-aggravated affray”.

For some reason, having attacked the shop with a knife and being beaten off he went down the road, entered a building and emerged within minutes disguised(?) in Islamic dress. I expect he will be found to have mental health difficulties. The police and the members of Shomrim NW who apprehended him were in no doubt that it was the same man.
