Legendary folk musician Dave Swarbrick dies aged 75
From the Banbury Guardian
Dave Swarbrick, one of the pioneers of the electric folk movement has died his family have announced. Former Fairport Convention fiddle player and one of the seminal musicians in folk has died at 75.
In recent years he had suffered with health problems but had remained an active member of the folk music scene touring as a solo performer.
The last time I saw him was in 2009 (above) in the Wat Tyler Country Park near Basildon Essex. He had had a lung tansplant a few years earlier and sometimes took oxygen on stage but his playing was amazing.
