Lord Conrad Black: Insights from the Ancient World

an interview with Erich J. Prince in Merion West.

On March 28th, Lord Conrad Black, the Canadian and British newspaper proprietor, author, and member of the British House of Lords, joined Merion West editor-in-chief Erich Prince for a conversation about Lord Black’s latest book The Political and Strategic History of the World, Vol I: From Antiquity to the Caesars, 14 A.D., which was released in December with World Encounter Institute/New English Review. Lord Black, who at one time published The Daily Telegraph, The Spectator, The Chicago Sun-Times, The Jerusalem Post, as well as approximately 100 smaller American newspapers, founded Canada’s National Post and has authored books on history, as well as biographies of Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt, Richard M. Nixon, and Donald J. Trump. In their discussion, Lord Black and Mr. Prince discuss how historians know what they do about the ancient world; the idea of human progress; the religious mindset across civilizations; and how history tends to be taught in the West today.
