I still have and treasure a New Criterion issue from about 14 years ago with your essay on some extremely ugly public building in Walsall. I’m now wondering if the owners/trustees thereof invited you, or failed to invite you, to lunch after reading it, because I also have your follow-up article from a few months later about the same building, which was equally as damning, or so I recall.
