By Christina McIntosh. An update on my post from the 22nd November. The Sydney police have done some fast work and arrested one of the blokes who did the anti-Jewish vandalism in Woollahre. Guess what his first name is? – hint, it starts with… M.

From Australian Jewish News

A 20-year-old man was to face court today (Monday) over last Thursday’s rampage in which cars and buildings were vandalised with anti-Israel graffiti and a vehicle was set alight.

Strike Force Mylor officers arrested Mohommed Farhat at Sydney Airport at 3:50am this morning and took him to Mascot Police Station where he was charged.

Sky News reported he was on his way to Thailand and has a Hezbollah tattoo.

He has been charged with 14 counts of destroy or damage property, three counts of enter building / land with intent commit indictable offence, and one count each of destroy property in company use fire more than $5000, destroy property in company use fire less than $2000, face blackened / disguised with intent commit indictable offence, and behave in offensive manner in /near public place / school.

He was due to appear before the Downing Centre Local Court today.

NSW Jewish Board of Deputies president David Ossip thanked NSW Police “for their swift investigative work”.

“We look forward to the full force of the law being applied to anyone who is found guilty of these crimes. This is a matter now before the courts and we will respectfully await the completion of the judicial process.”
