Mordecai Kedar Tells It Like It Is: The Arab (and non-Arab) Muslim War on Israel is a Jihad

An article that appeared in Israel National News on September 30 and which deserves to be spread far and wide.  Every non-Muslim politician and non-Muslim religious leader needs to have it placed on their desk. And no non-Muslim foreigner who enters Israel – whether as tourist, scholar, businessperson, journalist, diplomat or visiting politician or head of state – should be allowed to enter without being required to read it, and re-read it.  And in the case of journalists, diplomats, and visiting political and religious leaders, they should perhaps not be permitted to enter – or if permitted, their subsequent actions and words should be subjected to wary scrutiny – if, after having read it several times in the appropriate language, they show no sign of understanding that it describes observable fact.

‘Op-Ed: it’s Jihad, Stupid.”

‘Israel is experiencing a sharp increase in terrorist activity (that is: a sharp uptick in and intensification of open Muslim aggression against Jews – CM) in the form of rock-throwing, Molotov cocktails, and live ammunition aimed at Israeli vehicles (that is: Muslims taking pot-shots at Jewish drivers – CM), which began to be noticeable several months ago and has escalated rapidly over the last few weeks.

‘It is happening in Judea and Samaria, but the focus of the violence is in Jerusalem, where any incident involving the Temple Mount – Al Aqsa, in Arabic – draws regional and even world attention.

Whereas Muslims with murderous intent mobbing, near-lynching, stabbing or attempting to stab, firing guns at and throwing enormous rocks and molotov cocktails at Jews – day after day, week after week, month after month – are studiously ignored by the world’s press. – CM

‘Are we witnessing an organised set of terror attacks or an ongoing continuum of spontaneous events? Is this the harbinger of a third Intifada? And if not, what is it? The jury seems to be out on the question.

‘The undecided internal debate about the significance of the violence is expressed by the media’s selective choice of words.

The Israeli media, I think he means here. The foreign media – e.g. Australia’s ABC – is interested in giving a megaphone to the hysterical Muslim shrieking about how Jews are supposedly ‘attacking’ ‘Al Aqsa’ (by now, the ABC barely mentions the Jewish significance of the Temple Mount, the term Temple Mount itself is not given primacy, it’s all about ‘Al Aqsa, Islam’s third holiest site’) but not particularly interested in giving us any detail on what it’s like to be a Jewish driver mobbed and run off the road by flaming-eyed allahu-akbaring Muslim rock-throwers. – CM

‘Should young people’s actions be labelled acts perpetrated by “youths”, a word emphasizing their age, but not claiming that they are minors?

“Should they instead be called “activists”, “terrorists”, “militants”, “hooligans”?  It goes without saying that the choice of term makes a statement about the speaker’s position regarding the violence, as well as his opinion on the punishment the perpetrators should receive if and when they are apprehended. There is a great deal of difference between “driver killed by rock thrown by youths” and “driver killed by rock thrown by terrorists”.

‘It is sad to see the lack of real understanding on the part of Israelis and the rest of the world as to what is actually happening out there, because there is only one word that describes the truth about what the other side sees as reality – that is, the side that screams about Jews ascending the Temple Mount, throws rocks, hurls boulders and molotov cocktails, stabs, and shoots.  

‘That word, and it is the only applicable word, is “Jihad”.

‘This, to many Israelis, is the word “that must not be said”, because it tells us that what we are experiencing at the present time is an Islamic religious war.

It is not only Israelis that are afraid to use the J-word to describe the Muslim aggression that they are experiencing whether from within or from without. World-wide, a slew of confused and demoralised infidel nations facing an ever-rising frequency and intensity of Muslim aggression – pullulating out of the Muslim enclaves within their gates and/ or raiding across their borders – are also refusing to call things by their right names. – CM

‘Denial won’t change anything, however, because there are at least seven different ways to prove that Israel is, as it once was (and indeed, as it has always been since its rebirth in the 1940s – CM) a “Jihad” target.

‘First and foremost, the struggle today, as in the past, is over the religious supremacy issue.

‘According to Islam, the Jewish religion is passe, Din al-Batil, while Islam is the true religion, or Din al-Haqq.

‘According to Islam, Jews may live under Islamic rule if they cooperate and accept the lowly role of “dhimmi”, protected ones, sans sovereignty, arms, and citizen status.

And what it was and is to be a Dhimmi – whether Jewish, Christian, Zoroastrian or, after a bit of finessing from the ulema, Hindu or Buddhist – may be sufficiently understood from a reading of Dr Mark Durie’s “The Third Choice: Islam, Dhimmitude and Freedom”, which both distils and builds upon the pioneering work done by Bat Yeor and published in her dense scholarly tomes, “The Dhimmi: Jews and Christians Under Islam” and “The Decline of Eastern Christianity Under Islam”.  To be a dhimmi is to be an untermensch, a near-slave, living under a religion-based apartheid system which is also a crushing ‘protection racket’, paying jizya in order to be – perhaps…- allowed to remain alive; subject to a viciously and calculatedly-cruel system of sustained physical, economic, social and psychological Abuse.  One is exploited, degraded, humiliated and in constant physical peril.  The lot of Christians and Hindus in Pakistan today or of Copts in Egypt , exhibits many features of the Dhimma system, imposed de facto if not yet de jure. – CM

‘The situation today where Jews rule “Palestine”, a land that Islam considers holy to Muslims alone (because Byzantine “Palestine” was invaded and seized by Muslim armies in the 7th century, and Muslims firmly believe that whatever Islam steals Islam gets to keep, as of right, forever; for more on this “Stealers, Keepers” concept, Patrick Sookhdeo’s book “Faith, Power and Territory” offers useful discussion and sources – CM) and are able to tell Muslims what they are allowed and not allowed to do, contradicts the most basic Islamic tenet – “Al Islam wala yu’la ‘alayhi” – “Islam is supreme, and nothing can be above it.”

Or, alternatively, as John Roy Carlson puts it in his book ‘Cairo to Damascus”, in one of the chapter titles – “World of the Koran: Islam, Islam Uber Alles”.   – CM

‘A situation where another religion, and certainly Judaism, controls Muslims and an Islamic land (“Islamic land” being any land that Muslims ever invaded, seized, and ruled; – and it must be borne in mind that it isn’t only Israel that qualifies as an object of this Muslim supremacist irredentism; Spain, Portugal, Malta, southern Italy, much of Hungary, Bulgaria and indeed all of the Balkans as far west as Vienna, southern France as far as Tours, a vast swathe of Russia, and all of India, also qualify as “land that is supposed to belong to Muslims and ought to be reconquered by Muslims because anything Muslims steal is theirs forever”.  A separate issue is, of course, the fact that Muslims regard the entire planet as theirs by right, even if much of it currently happens to be illegally occupied by non-sharia-compliant Infidels, who require to be made to Submit, or else….- CM), mandates a “Jihad”.

‘Second, according to Islamic doctrine, “Jihad” can assume various forms depending on prevailing circumstances.

‘Screams, curses, blows, rocks, boulders, firecrackers, fire-bombs, knives, shots – all are weapons, each chosen after assessing the particular situation.  Cameras are also weapons, especially for the media, which acts as the preferred Jihadist arena.  The photographer and journalist are fighters in the “Communications Jihad”.

And the non-Muslim western press has been all too eager to become an agent of that Jihad against the Jews..or against any other person, entity or nation that dares to notice, complain about or resist the spread of Islam and the imposition of Muslim supremacy, not only in Israel, but absolutely anywhere else. – CM

“Legal Jihad” continues the struggle in the halls of international courts and institutions, while “Economic Jihad” is waged in BDS calls to boycott Israel, pull out of financial investments in the Jewish state, and lay on sanctions.

‘The Bedouin in the Sinai have been carrying on a Jihad against Israel by smuggling infiltrators – many of them Muslim (surprise!) and weapons into Gaza or into Israeli territory.  The leader of the infiltrators in Israel is a Muslim, and his activities against the State, its citizens and laws can be lumped together as “Migrant Jihad”.

Not only in Israel but in the UK, in Germany, in France, in Denmark, in Sweden, and parts of the USA and Australia ordinary Infidel citizens are increasingly noticing and feeling the negative effects of “Migrant Jihad” which has been going on steadily for decades, but of late has been escalated, exponentially…all those huge menacing mobs of young Mohammedan men of military age, glaring, breaking things, grabbing, assaulting police, cursing, and talking casually amongst themselves in Arabic (as overheard and reported, on one occasion, by an Arabic-conversant East European lady) about whether they should or should not rob, rape or take hostage the infidels – including herself – with which they were at that time sharing a railway carriage.  That they did not do it on that particular occasion was not because of moral scruples but merely a matter of not thinking that they could get away with it just then, just there. – CM

‘A Muslim MK who defames Israel from the Knesset podium is a “Poltiical Jihadist”.

We have not a few of those political jihadis in the West, also, firmly ensconced in our political and other institutions, though they may be somewhat less blatant …at the moment…than are the Muslims in the Knesset. – CM

‘Make no mistake, all of the above are different types of Islamic Jihad.

‘Third is the increasing involvement of the Islamic Movement, particularly the northern branch led by Raed Saleh (aka the Al Aqsa Sheikh) in staging incidents, incitement, financing the al-Murabitoun and al-Murabitat organisations (these being the mobs of menacing men and often-faceless women who mob, shriek at, and physically threaten any Jewish visitor who dares step foot on the Temple Mount, the Jews’ most holy place; and again, the Western press completely ignores them or if it mentions them does so in a manner that essentially takes their part – CM) and its growing coordination with Hamas.

‘Each of these organisations carries on its anti-Israel Jihad to the best of its abilities, but all share a common religious goal: transforming all of “Palestine”, stretching from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, into a part of the Islamic Caliphate, with its capital in Al Kuds (Jerusalem).

‘The first religious leader of the Arabs (that is, of the Arab Muslims – CM) in the area designated as the Jewish Homeland – the Mufti Haj Amin el-Husseini – was involved in Military Jihad against the Jews of Israel, but was also actively involved in the annihilation of a half-million Hungarian Jews in 1944.

‘Fourth is the meaning of the historically and religiously significant names of the above-mentioned organisations.

‘They refer to the entire land and especially to the areas bordering it where Muslims battle infidels in order to strengthen Islam and establish its rule over them and their countries. There have been organisations with similar names outside of Israel, all of them Islamic Jihadist in character.

‘The fifth indication is the expression used for anyone killed in anti-Israel incidents (that is: for any Muslim who gets killed whilst attacking Jews and/ or Israel – CM). Today, as well as in the past, the term employed is “shaheed”, a religious term meaning someone who dwells in Paradise near Allah and receives the reward for martyrdom for the sake of Islam from Allah’s hand.

‘And the sixth proof?  Just look at what is going on in the Muslim world.  All the Muslims living west of the Jordan River, in Israel and in the Palestinian Authority, are well-informed about the developments in Syria, Iraq, and the Sinai.

‘They are privileged to see in real time how original, fundamentalist, pure and unadulterated Islam is going about a bold and successful Jihad – including beheadings on camera – against Alawite, Yazidi, Druze and Shiite (and Christian – CM) Infidels, as well as foreigners like the Americans, whom they do not fear in the least.

‘Everyone knows what is happening in the Jihad-land that has blossomed in the Sinai Desert, and how the Jihadists are successfully fighting an all-out war against the Egyptian military forces, the largest army in the Middle East.  Joy at Jihad successes in the countries surrounding Israel has found its way into the hearts of the Muslims living West of the Jordan, and motivates them to join the Jihad against the Jews, the “enemies of Allah and Islam”, and become part of the wave of Islamic successes that have the whole world trembling in fear.

‘Seventh, the illegal Arab construction (that is – Arab Muslim construction – CM) going on all over Israel west of the Jordan is a kind of Jihad known as “Construction Jihad”.

The proliferation of large – often menacingly large and obtrusive – fortress-like mosques all over the West, most of them in places where Muslims historically had little or no presence at all, mosques built now not only in capital cities but in provincial towns in, for example, the USA and Australia – is another example of ‘Construction Jihad’. – CM

‘Not coincidentally, that is the name of the construction company owned by Hezbollah, no problem because the idea of a joint Jihad against Israel is an integral part of Islam to both Sunnis and Shiites and is one of the few points of agreement between them.

‘The multi-pronged Jihad against Israel described here is not announced publicly (or explained in detail as I have done) because the Muslims know full well that the world (or at least some part of the world; I am not optimistic about how large a part of it, alas, by now, given how eager so many non-Muslims have been to gobble up and to then peddle to others Muslim nonsense-and-lies concerning Israel and the Jews – CM) will not support Jihad if its fighters are openly attempting to destroy Israel.

‘That is why Israel’s leaders, spokespersons and media, every last one of them, must begin to pull their heads out of the sand, call the Jihad by its name, and talk about what is happening here in real terms, that is, religious ones.  

It is time to say from morning to night that what we – and not only we – are facing is a Jihad, nothing else, and that the fighters – women, children, adults and youth – are Jihad fighters. That is what they identify with, that is why they are enlisting.”

‘Rock, boulder, fire-bomb, knife and gun, along with the camera, courts, boycott, and migration – are all weapons in the hands of Jihad fighters, and all are meant to topple Israeli security, society, economics and standing.

Mutatis mutandis, the same is true of all countries that have Muslim lands for neighbours and/ or have foolishly admitted large numbers of Muslims within their gates…-CM

‘Israel must take them seriously – and remember that in war, as in war.

‘Our media people, who are still dreaming about a new Middle East as postulated by their delusional leader and Pied Piper of Hamelin, Shimon Peres, are afraid of Jihadism (sic: afraid of the Jihad, of Islam – CM) because they, like all liberals, have no tools [with which] to fight a religious war against soldiers who have Allah’s praise on their lips.

‘Every time I try to tell Israeli media that Israel is fighting Jihadists (a better way to put it perhaps would be to say, ‘Israel is defending itself against Jihad’ – CM), the interviewers quiet me fearfully and tell me not to change the nationalist Israeli-Palestinian conflict into an Islamic-Jewish religious war.

Not an ‘Islamic-Jewish religious war’, for that wording can imply – and is so used to imply, by moral equivalencers and proponents of the cycleofviolence twotinypeoples nonsense – a tit for tat in which both sides are equally to blame and it doesn’t really matter who started it.  No, what is going on is, to be clear, Muslim aggression against Jews as such and therefore against the Jewish state of Israel; and it forms a subset of the wider global Jihad, the ongoing and 1400-year-old Muslim aggression, in accord with the prime directives contained in the canonical Islamic texts, against all Infidels and Infidel states everywhere. To qualify as a target one need only be an unsubdued Infidel anywhere on the planet.  – CM

‘I make an effort to tell them that with or without my saying it, and whether or not they admit it, the war is a religious one.  In fact, I add that even if they do not allow me to say it, the roots of the entire conflict are Islamist and religious.

‘It may be presented as a nationalist, territorial, legal, political or any other kind of struggle, but that is an exercise in self-deception.

‘The conflict stems from a source of Islamic religious fire, one that burns in the hearts of men and inside the fire-bombs.

‘In the war of Independence the Arabs shouted “Idbah-al-Yahoud”, “butcher the Jew!”  Note that they did not say Israeli or Zionist, but Jew. It is the Jews that they want to be rid of.

‘Shimon Perest, Yossi Beilin, Alon Liel and the other hallucinatory figures tried to convince us that there is a difference between the bad jihadists of Hamas and the charming, pleasant PLO ones, those true lovers of peace and tranquility, those whose arch-jihadist leader Yasser Arafat was awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace. Even Abbas’ incendiary UN speech (given only just now – CM), will not change their minds.

‘Theirs was an unfounded and utterly delusionary point of view, but it cost the lives of over 1500 very real Israelis, because the only difference between Hamas and the PLO is that Hamas declares openly that it is a Jihad fighter organisation, while some PLO members hide the fact that they are as well.

‘Some of them – those in the Al-Aqsa Brigades – don’t bother to hide it, and their president, Mahmoud Abbas, finances them.

‘Those of us who are battle-weary attempt to kosher the Jihadist PLO vermin, just as they attempted to gloss over Haj Amin Al-Husseini’s part in the Holocaust of European Jewry.

‘Let’s wake up and tell the truth – to ourselves and to the world.

‘Only the truth can help us understand reality and deal with it properly.

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes; and not only for Israel! – CM

‘The truth is that we are a Jihad target for Hamas and the PLO, each one using its own methods of trying to dissemble and pull the wool over our eyes, and if we fall – thanks in part to the European money pouring into the arteries of the PLO Jihad – Europe will be the next objective of that very same Jihad, which is already in the midst of exporting itself to Europe by means of massive Muslim immigration to the ageing and deteriorating continent.

Hijra. At this point, Mr Kedar could refer to another Muslim religious concept – migration to spread Islam.  Those who still need to find out what that is can consult an ex-Muslim, Sam Solomon, his fully-referenced book, “Al Hijra: The Islamic Doctrine of Immigration’. And to see how it has worked out in practice already, how far advanced it is in one European country, they should read a book by another ex-Muslim, now-Christian, Patrick Sookhdeo – “Islam in Britain”.  His longer and more detailed book ‘Faith, Power and Territory’ makes essentially the same point as Mr Solomon, though at greater length. – CM

‘Our enemies, no matter what else they are, are all Jihad fighters.

‘We have to adapt our way of talking about this situation, and deal with it accordingly.

‘The faster we do so, the better it will be for us – and [for] the world”.
