Muslim Parents At London Jewish School Complain Of Oct. 7th Memorial: ‘Disrespectful To Muslims’

I saw this on X this afternoon on the 5 Pillarz account but I don’t like giving them any publicity. This is from VIN News of Israel.

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — King Solomon High School, a Jewish state secondary in Redbridge, London, has been criticised by Muslim parents of children at the school for planning a memorial on October 7 for what the school calls the “victims of this massacre.”

A school letter to parents describes October 7 as a massacre of 1,200 Israelis by Hamas gunmen.

The 5pillars Muslim-based news site claimed that these are  “Israeli regime statistics which are heavily disputed given the high numbers thought to have been killed by the IDF itself.”

The site quote a letter from Muslim parents which complains of double standards in policy, where children were allegedly reprimanded for showing solidarity with victims of the Gaza genocide.

The parents argued that schools must discuss world issues in line with facts, and maintained that schools in particular have a duty to remain impartial, instead of having an “extremely disrespectful” attitude towards the “Muslim loss of life.”

The parents demand that all victims must be commemorated in the memorial or the event should be cancelled altogether.

5 Pillars says “What do you think the school should do given that it has a substantial Muslim intake? And do you think Muslim parents should even be sending their children to this school?”

The school is Orthodox Jewish by denomination but obviously  has a multi-faith intake and staffroom. The last dealings I had with the school was at the opening of an Essex aeronautical event. A group of older pupils (Y11 or12) were there, I think, as part of something under the STEM syllabus  under the supervision of a very knowledgeable young Sikh teacher. Impeccable behaviour.

  1. Yes, the Muslims, murdered by the Hamas murderers of babies, rapers of women, torturers of innocent others should also be comemorated.
Is Allah ashamed of His followers or only disappointed?
