  Trump haters who seized on the possibility (now debunked)  that the former president might have been hit by shrapnel not a bullet — as if in some weird way that made the planned assassination less serious — won’t like to be reminded that, whether you and I approve of him or not, we know a fragment can still do a lot of damage. George Plimpton in his delightful golfing book, The Bogey Man, which contains some impressively weird data of its own, records that after studying all the evidence, the author of a book called The Golfer’s Handbook, concluded that a world record in ricocheting was set by a ball that traveled 75 yards after bouncing off a caddy’s head!
