In the next few weeks, thanks to the combined gold of Hollywood and Madison Avenue, all over America McMansions and homeless encampments, classrooms, smoke-filled rooms, doctors’ waiting rooms and pulpits will be the recipients of front-page stories, tv talk shows and items on crowd-gathering laptops with the same focus: the charming eccentricities, curative powers and indomitable strength of the One who has been sent to save us.
Come election day, like Blanche DuBois, the burnished image will be better known than the President of the United States.

Reg is one of the very few writers I have any faith in!
Bill, What a nice thing to say. Many thanks. I won’t praise your writing here because it will sound artificial but I do like your sense of humor, doubly precious by being in such short supply these day. Thanks for that too. Best wishes, Reg
