Shocking animal abuse uncovered at halal slaughterhouse in Warwickshire

Over 1,000 lambs a week are reported to be killed at the site, which was expanded last year despite objections from residents in the village of Arley.

Joey said: “There can be no justification for the horrific treatment of animals we have filmed at this facility, the suffering and terror these animals have endured is unimaginable. The fact this is a non-stun slaughterhouse was never the point of the investigation, wherever we have undertaken an investigation and no matter the method of killing, what is evident, is that all animals suffer needlessly in slaughterhouses and the only way to end this is through strict laws protecting animals from human exploitation and the large scale adoption of a plant-based diet.”

Note he has to put in the politically correct, woke and vegan arguments to deflect criticism that he is being islamophobic or racist. But as the animal rights lobby has consistently ignored halal slaughter for years, claiming that all slaughter is cruel, that he has gone into a halal slaughterhouse at all is to his credit. 

Nuneaton and Arley’s MP raised the issue in Parliament and quizzed why regulatory systems had ‘failed to address’ repeated breaches. The local MP said: “Footage released yesterday (Wednesday, March 5) appears to show 200 horrific hours of repeated animal abuse at an abattoir in my constituency. I have been working with residents and a multitude of agencies to try to ensure safety and compliance since well before my election to this place. . . Will the Leader of the House work with me to establish why it took an activist to highlight those issues while my constituents in Old Arley and those animals continue to suffer, and to find ways of ensuring that there is tighter scrutiny and swifter action, and that businesses are closed when standards are not met?”
