Southport update

Very bad news from Southport this morning, that a third little girl has died.

The three girls have been named, Bebe, Elsie and Alice, 6, 7 and 9. Two more girls are in a critical condition as is one of the dance leaders, Leanne who was badly injured protecting them. The other leader, Heidi who also fought the murderer wasn’t so badly hurt. The window cleaner who rushed to help seems to be OK but the owner of the business in the neighbouring unit who also ran to the girls aid was to undergo surgery today. His wife said that physically he will recover, but at the moment mentally he is reproaching himself for his failure to protect all the children and women.

The Prime Minister laid flowers and was heckled for the government’s general failure to deal with violent crime. Early this evening there was a vigil which took place with dignity. Then police found and arrested a man with a knife in the vicinity of the vigil.

Now there is rioting outside Southport Mosque and against the police.

The police are blaming this on the EDL. Unless there is a small cell existing in a secret vacuum, like the veteran Japanese soldiers on remote islands cut off from the rest of the army who didn’t know the war was over, this statement is balderdash.  But it shows how powerful was the movement and that name, back in the day.

So far, unless information comes to light that he is a revert to Islam the 17 year old arrested is of Rwandan descent, with (according to X) a French name. So while the attack has all the hallmarks of jihad it may be a copycat crime.  The police are definitely ‘managing’ the information they allow to be made public, and they were quick to deny terrorism (althought Counter terror police are assisting) and while there can be good reasons for this it adds to the constant suspicion of a ‘cover-up’.

Merseyside police have not run away from the rioters like their West Yorkshire colleagues did last week when Muslims rioted for several nights in Rochdale.

Andrew Bridgen wasn’t wrong on Saturday about tipping point.

The army officer, Lt Col Mark Teeton, who was stabbed outside his home last week in another atempted murder which mimicked a jihad attack remains in a serious condition a week after the attack.

This is not going to be a quiet summer.
