Terror suspect to be detained until Friday

The Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Command has been granted a second warrant to continue detaining a 17-year-old boy following a police raid in Goodmayes. 

Warrants to detain the three adults until Thursday, 16 July were granted last week.

A separate one to detain the 17-year-old was due to expire today, however, officers have been granted a second warrant of further detention which will let them keep him until Friday, 17 July. 

Officers have now completed searches at four addresses in east and south London and two in Leicestershire.
