The Tree is Known by Its Fruit – Maher Echoes Jesus

Late-night talk show host Bill Maher responded on Friday to the Paris terror attacks by saying, “When there’s this many bad apples, there’s something wrong with the orchard.”

  1. Clearly echoing Jesus. The question I have is why he avoided expressing his thought in the terms everyone is familiar with, whether Christian or not. Was it because he is, I assume, an atheist who could not allow himself to quote Jesus? Or was it because doing so would undermine his credibility among his, I assume, largely secular audience? I suppose both reasons could apply.
