From the Telegraph
Donald Trump’s proposed Cabinet has been targeted with a series of hoax bomb threats with one member suggesting it was the work of pro-Palestinian activists.
Pete Hegseth, John Ratcliffe, Elise Stefanik, Lee Zeldin, Brooke Rollins and Howard Lutnick were all targeted.
Mr Zeldin, Mr Trump’s nominee to lead the Environment Protection Agency, said the threat he received came with “a pro-Palestinian themed message”.
Fox News reported that “nearly a dozen” figures named in the new Cabinet have been targeted, and that law enforcement had visited several homes in response.
Matt Gaetz, who withdrew as Mr Trump’s original nomination for attorney general, was also targeted.
The so-called “swatting incidents” were not credible threats, with no devices or physical threats found, police sources told NBC News. They added that the threats did not involve Mr Trump or JD Vance.
Karoline Leavitt, the Trump-Vance transition spokeswoman, has said that “intimidation will not deter us”,
She said law enforcement had acted “quickly to ensure the safety of those who were targeted”.
“President Trump and the transition are focused on doing the work of uniting our nation by ensuring a safe and prosperous future,” Ms Leavitt continued.
“With president Trump as our example, dangerous acts of intimidation and violence will not deter us.”
