Twenty one dead in church bombing on Palm Sunday

At least 13 people have been killed after a bomb exploded inside a packed Egyptian church as worshippers marked Palm Sunday.

An Egyptian official said 25 had also been injured, while state television put the number at 42.

The explosion happened in the city of Tanta – about 55 miles north of Cairo.

Ahram on line has a sad update –  The Ministry of Health says the death toll in the Tanta church explosion has risen to 21.  Death toll is expected to rise.

The explosive device was planted in the church before detonating, causing deaths and injuries, a security official told the state-run news agency MENA.
