Ukraine’s NATO application; Would you expect anything different?

At last; some evidence of the waffling going on behind the scenes .

The US is trying desperately to keep their involvement in the war in “non-combatant” status, so in a way this tortuous procedure is a benefit to them as they search for a way out. A way out which will almost certainly be throwing Ukraine to the dogs, once face-saving concessions are made. The only way out is to either cede some territory to the Russians or somehow create a neutral buffer state that is friendly to the Russians but not aggressive to the west.

Everyone knows that there’s only one guy from the west who can bring about that sort of deal, the man who knows “the art of the deal”
