Vulnerable teen ‘raped and taken to Sheffield hotel for sex’, court told
The second day of the prosecution case from the Sheffield Star
A “vulnerable” teenage girl was raped by two men and later taken to a Sheffield hotel where other men were waiting to have sex with her, a jury has been told. Usman Din invited the 15-year-old girl to his mother’s home on Cullabine Road, where he plied her with something that “tasted like vodka and coke” and she felt dizzy straight afterwards, prosecutor Peter Hampton said to Sheffield Crown Court.
A second man, introduced as Din’s cousin, arrived as part of what Mr Hampton said was “a preconceived plan by the defendant to sexually abuse her.” She later told police she felt groggy as if she couldn’t move, before the men raped her. “When it was over, she vomited on the floor,” said Mr Hampton. “She was terrified throughout.”
…she met Din in Fitzalan Square, where she would hang around because she was in foster care and “felt as though she had no real home to go to.”
He said: “Come on baby,” before dragging her down an alleyway behind the S1 Food Bar, where he punched and raped her again, the court was told. “And I was just terrified,” she said. “And I couldn’t tell nobody about it.”
It is also alleged that Din took the girl to the Ibis hotel where two other men were waiting, but “she left before anything happened,” Mr Hampton said. He said Din was “arranging for himself and other adult men to have illicit sexual contact with her.”
Mr Hampton said Din admitted having sex with the girl at his mother’s house, but denied another man was involved, and said it was consensual. “He believed she was 16 when these occasions occurred and when he knew she was 15 he did not see her again,”
