Watch: Leeds condemn fans for singing anti-Palestine song in support of Manor Solomon

From the Telegraph where one of the top comments is

  • Every Saturday a despicable bunch of anti semites march through Leeds chanting pro Palestinian (aka terrorist) slogans and they do so with impunity.
Leeds has a large and respected Jewish population that have contributed far more to the city than they have taken.
Good on the Leeds United supporters for choosing the side of the righteous.

Leeds United have condemned and warned a section of their fans after chants emerged on social media about Palestine and their Israeli player Manor Solomon.  A member of the Israeli national team who usually plays for Tottenham Hotspur, a team noted for their long-standing Jewish support (the famous Yid Army, as they call themselves)

To the tune of the Manfred Mann song Do Wah Diddy Diddy, footage has been viewed over a million times on the platform X of numerous Leeds fans at Stoke City’s Bet365 Stadium singing, “Looks good, looks good, looks fine, looks fine, Manor Solomon’s on my mind and he hates Palestine”.

Leeds won 2-0 on Boxing Day at Stoke to go top of the Championship table but the club have now called out the behaviour of those fans and warned that they could be breaking the law.

I’m taking the clip of the singing from a football X account, rather than the one the Telegraph uses because I like the comments underneath

Another good comment

  • Chanting for the annihilation of Israel and Jews is ok though.

I’m growing to like the city where my husband spent his teens, the more time I spend there.

Also Spurs, one of Spur’s Jewish supporters is Emily Damari, the last British citizen alive held hostage in Gaza.
This is her fellow supporters singing the song that has grown up in her honour, and letting off yellow balloons.

This is the song  outside the ground, a better version.

I have definitely seen a clip of it being sung, in Northern accents, in the Leeds or Manchester area, but I can’t find it.
