What Makes PEGIDA "Right-Wing" And "Anti-Immigrant"?

Answer: Nothing.

PEGIDA is not “right-wing.” There is nothing “right-wing” about it. The only reason it is called “right-wing” is because this is the Homeric epithet that those in the press who can’t deal with PEGIDA truthfully have to slander with the word “right-wing.”

PEGIDA is not “anti-immigrant.” And the political movements in Germany and elsewhere in Europe that are described, in the American press too (Americans are being systematically misinformed, by the likes of Christopher Dickey and Christine Amanpour), as “anti-immigrant” are not. They are anti-Muslim-immigrant, which is a very different thing. They are not indiscriminate nativists and Know-Nothings, but people who know quite a bit about what is in the texts (Qur’an and Hadith and Sira) of Islam, know something about the past 1400 years of Islamic conquest of many different lands and peoples then subjugated, and taught, when they were islamized and some of them arabized, to forget or despise their pre-Islamic history anbd identity, and also have taken note of the observable behavior of Muslims, in Muslim and non-Muslim lands, over the past few decades.

“Right-wing.” “Anti-immigrant.” These misplaced and lying epithets do all the work, for the reporters and political figures using them think they can continue to get away with not discussing, or studying, the ideology of Islam. It’s too late for that.
