Why no women in the photograph of Muslim meeting in Winchester?

A letter to the Hampshire Chronicle from a lady who has noticed a report from Winchester mosque (in the beautiful cathedral city and County Town of Hampshire)

I support a gathering in solidarity with Muslims in our community, particularly in the aftermath of the national riots

(Chronicle, August 15 “We are further blessed that we have such a welcoming, respectful and supportive community around us. We have received many messages of support from individuals, from our friends in faith at the Cathedral, Churches Together, local businesses and neighbours. Thank you Winchester!”).

I wonder, however, if a woman’s view would be welcomed when I look at your  photograph showing eight men on the stage and a sizeable audience of men only with no women in view.  Were women excluded?

The first comment says:

Incredibly, it would seem that some cultures don’t treat women the same way as we do – who knew!

At which another reader comes back to scoff at him and call him a fascist
