YouTube channel urges UK girls to become jihadi brides

From The Times

YouTube has been hosting a pro-Isis hate channel with footage aimed at grooming jihadi brides. The site, which has received almost 6m views, remained online even though the FBI had warned that some of its content had allegedly been used to radicalise Muslim girls as young as 15.

Videos on the Light and Knowledge channel feature a “who’s who” of hate preachers, some posing alongside Isis flags. The videos appear to be glorifying and encouraging terrorism, in breach of UK laws. A Sunday Times investigation has uncovered links between the channel, which has been active for more than eight years, and the British extremist cleric Anjem Choudary and his banned al-Muhajiroun group.

The Times reports that the most disturbing footage is a film called The Light Reloaded Pt 2 (The Role of Muslim Women). This film, which is 11-minutes long, appears according to Dipesh Gadher’s report, to urge women and girls in Britain and the West to take up arms in defence of Islam. Young women and children are shown exhibiting weapons including guns and rocket launchers.

The narrator is believed to be Sheikh Abdullah el-Faisal. He is a Jamaican born Iman who radicalised a series of terrorists at Brixton mosque. Faisal’s stepson, Seitu Kokayi awaits trial in Alexandria, Virginia in April. He is accused of grooming a 15 year old girl at the Koranic school where he taught, both sexually and for jihad. He spoke to her about  “dying as a religious martyr”.

More videos on the channel feature other extremist preachers or acolytes of Anjem Choudary. The comments criticise You Tube for not removing the channel when we know the moderators can move quickly when it suits them.
